International Group Accountant

Sewell Wallis are working with a fantastic business based in Leeds city centre who are offering long term flexibility where you can work from home on a regular basis to suit your personal needs. This exciting business have been experiencing rapid growth and specialise within the sporting industry. They have a fantastic and highly dynamic finance team who are now looking for an experienced International Group Accountant on a 12 month fixed term contract to help them through an extremely busy period.

Whilst initially a long term contract, there is every possibility that this role will become permanent for the right individual.

As the International Group Accountant, you will be the key finance contact for the international side of the business and will drive long term improvements to the Group's international reporting. This is a project driven role and will require someone to think off their feet and always be highly proactive and self motivated.

The role will work closely with the Finance Service Centre, the Tax Team and the Group's external auditors to produce robust financial information and produce accounts and accounting information for the Group's international subsidiaries.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, your day to day will look like this:-

-Gather information from around the business and working with other members of the financial reporting team to recommend and implement changes
-Preparation of the statutory accounts for the Group's international entities
-Interpretation and explanation of information requested by external auditors
-Building strong relationships with external accounts preparers and internal finance teams to deliver quality financial information
-Maintain an accurate tracker of deadlines and deliverable for each Group entity
-Evaluate and assess the impact of changes to relevant financial reporting standards
-Identify and implement opportunities for improvements in the Group's financial reporting processes
-Assist with on boarding of potential new international operations
-Ad hoc project work when required

You will need to be available to start by September at the latest and hold a recognized finance qualification, ideally ACA or ACCA. Experience working with international subsidiaries would be highly advantageous.

You must be a driven and ambitious accountant with the desire to succeed and the ability to question practices and processes. Relationship building is absolutely essential in this position, so you must have the confidence to speak to various different stakeholders and influence as and when required.
