Don’t just take our word for it…

Don’t just take our word for it…

In my 25 years + of being a candidate and a senior manager recruiting I've never felt the need to write a recommendation for a recruitment consultant before but I was blown away with Chloe's professionalism.

Chloe really took the time to get to know me and what I was looking for in a role and was able to match me with a wonderful position which not only ticked all the boxes I was looking for from an experience/skills fit, but made sure the organisation and I were a cultural fit. She was in regular contact with me even if only to say she was still awaiting an update from the organisation, going the extra mile all the way.

Chloe is a breath of fresh air in understanding the needs of the clients remit and that of the candidates, I genuinely cannot recommend her highly enough.

More than half of us report our mental health as ‘not good’: 5 reasons you should care, and 5 ways to fix it

Our mental health and day-to-day wellbeing are affected by numerous things, whether individually or in combination. Things like illness, bereavement, social life or lack thereof, your job and the security of it, your family circumstances among many other things. For so many of us, work is a huge part of our lives – we spend hours a day there, and it has a direct effect on our lives and wellbeing. It really isn’t a surprise that how we feel at work can impact the rest of our lives outside of the office.

The True Cost of Counter Offers

The True Cost of Counter Offers

Anyone who manages people has been there: a valuable employee is resigning, the panic is setting in, what do you do? You counter offer them to convince them to stay. This might seem like a logical solution to get the potential leaver to stick around, and avoid the costs associated with hiring their replacement, but counter offers can, more often than not, lead to unintended consequences that can cause long-term damage to your business.

Leeds to Liverpool Cycle for Brain Tumour Research 💛

Leeds to Liverpool Cycle for Brain Tumour Research 💛

On 27th April, Suli and I attempted the Leeds to Liverpool cycle, a 126 mile ride covering the whole canal length, with beautiful scenery. We took on this challenge to raise money for Brain Tumour Research, Sewell Wallis’ charity partner of the year. This is a cause close to our hearts, as our colleague, Hannah Bateman, lost her dad to a brain tumour in 2023. We were determined to raise a ton of money and tackle this huge challenge head-on; neither of us are cyclists and we hadn’t done any training, so it would be an absolute slog. The first 27 miles from Leeds to Skipton were pretty tough as our bodies got used to it, but nothing compared to what was to come! The paths were flat, level and straight; overall it was actually a really nice ride. It was, however, absolutely freezing as it was only 9:20 am by the time we got to our first stop.
