About the Role
Sewell Wallis are recruiting for a global and well-established Professional Services West Yorkshire business to secure a Financial Accountant. This role is a well-rounded position, focusing on month-end and year-end activities, balance sheet reconciliations, VA returns and loads of project work to get your teeth stuck into.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for providing high-quality accounting services across a broad range of responsibilities. The successful candidate will deliver technical guidance and financial analysis in line with relevant accounting standards and legal requirements, ensuring work is completed accurately, reliably, and within required time frames.
What will you be doing?
- You will take ownership of key aspects of financial reporting and balance sheet controls, assuming end-to-end responsibility for selected month-end and year-end activities.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to strengthen the control environment and enhance the quality of financial insights available for decision-making.
- Preparing and ensuring the accuracy of VAT reporting across several entities.
- Providing detailed information to external statutory auditors during audit processes.
- Preparation of reliable quarterly management accounts for multiple business units, as well as compiling annual trial balances and financial statements for entities within the UK-based group and internationally.
- Reconciling all balance sheet accounts for the relevant entities.
- You will help develop, implement, and maintain a new model for the regular reconciliation of EMEA intercompany balances
What skills are we looking for?
- Qualified candidate ACA, ACCA, CIMA
- Industry experience - at least 3 years post qualified.
- Experience working with multi-entity businesses, particularly with overseas EMEA entities.
- A confident communicator who enjoys business partnering
- Experience with project work - process improvement and tool development
