Senior Operations Accountant

Sewell Wallis are currently working with a long-standing energy business that have recently gone through an exciting and positive period of change. Due to an increase in work load following this significant change in the business, they are now looking to strengthen their finance team with a brand new position.

They require an experienced Operations Accountant to work closely with the Financial Controller and the FP&A Manager, to support them in the smooth running of their multiple sites in the UK. Whilst a hands-on accounting position, it will also give you some excellent exposure to the Operations side of the company, so business partnering experience would be highly beneficial.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your role will consists of the following duties:-

-Closely business partner with the General Managers on the sites to ensure the correct budgets are in place
-Prepare and process month end journals
-Balance sheet reconciliations
-Stock take and close collaboration with stores staff including reconciliations
-Month end review with the FC and FP&A Manager
-Mentoring and coaching the Accounts Assistant
-Review VAT returns
-Fixed assets register and deprecation maintenance
-Foreign currency transactions
-Review inventory transaction analysis and processes

There will be a requirement to travel to Deeside once of twice a month, so candidates will need to be flexible around travel as business partnering with each site is key to be a success in this role. You will need to be a qualified accountant to be considered for this position. Multi-site experience would be highly advantageous.
