Sewell Wallis are working with a leading professional services group with fantastic offices based in Leeds city centre. Our client have consistently been named within the top ten at what they do and are proud of the culture and reputation they have created. Despite offering a corporate and highly professional service, they have shaped a family like environment to work in, and this is highly demonstrated throughout their medium sized finance team based in Leeds.They are now looking to add a Senior Group Accountant to that team, where you will report into a fantastic CFO and work closely alongside a driven and ambitious Financial Controller. Both of these individuals are proof that if you work hard within this business, you can succeed and progress very quickly.
As the Senior Group Accountant, your role will include the following duties:-
-Manage and develop an Accounts Assistant, with regular one to ones and coaching
-Submission of the monthly consolidated group results
-Regularly liaising with the international group in relation to international standard and mapping of accounts
-Preparation of corporate tax analyses for the division and managing the submission of tax returns
-Prepare annual budgets together with any reforecasts
-Prepare the monthly management reports
-Oversee the preparation of monthly and annual accounts
-Keep up to date with development in UK and internal GAAP
-Act as the key point of contact for HMRC
-Assist with ad hoc projects when required
This excellent opportunity would suit a first-time mover from practice at Manager level, with experience in preparing accounts rather than purely audit. Or someone who has progressed well within industry but is lacking a challenge and would welcome the opportunity to learn from a motivational CFO. Either route is fine, as long as you are a qualified accountant with a real drive to succeed and progress.
