Sewell Wallis are exclusively working with a fantastic international business based in south Leeds, who are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded, Senior Group Accountant to join their finance team.This global company can rarely be beaten when it comes to career progression. They can offer you commercial exposure to all areas of this large, high performing business, whilst also keeping you into the detail so you don't lose your technical capabilities along the way. You will have to be a natural finance business partner to succeed in this role, as you will be expected to build long lasting relationships across the company, as well as being a competent technical accountant.
The role would suit someone who has trained in practice and ideally has a year of two's experience in industry. However, 1st time movers at the right level will be considered.
As the Senior Group Accountant, you will report into a highly focused and motivational Finance Director who is keen to pas on their knowledge and expertise to you.
Your duties will include the following:-
-Play a key part in the overall finance function where you will support in the delivery of strategic change and act as a true finance business to all areas across the organisation
-Prepare management information by working closely with the Finance Business Partners and the Head of FP&A, to ensure financial information if prepared and delivered on time
-Ownership of the day-to-day financial processing for several entities in the UK and the rest of the world.
-Control the balance sheet for the relevant entities, including overseas branches
-Ensure financial reporting is produced monthly alongside clearing all balance sheet reconciliations
-Support with the budgeting and monthly forecasting process for the business
-Work closely with the FD on any key projects that will drive strategic change within the business
-Ownership of the audit process, liaising with auditors in the UK and overseas
-Financial analysis to support ad hoc project work
You will need to be a qualified accountant with a strong grasp on what it's like to work for a large, fast paced organisation. Personally, you will be motivated and ambitious, and keen to join a business where you can quickly progress.
