Project Accountant

We are excited to be partnering our client with the recruitment of a Project Accountant during an exciting period of growth. This business is an extremely well known, national, service sector business and one of the key players in their field. They have ambitious plans to grow 50% in turnover in the next five years and are therefore looking for a driven, commercially minded individual who will add value and work
collectively to make this happen.

Working as part of the commercial finance function, reporting into the Commercial Finance Manager you will partner the business change function. You will be part of the senior management meetings and will ensure spending is kept within budget, key variances are explained and will provide insightful analysis which will aid decision making within this team.


The job;

-Develop a robust forecasting model for Change colleagues to use that will feed into a consolidated model to produce a range of insightful summary reports and provide commentary on performance, highlighting risks and opportunities.
-Monthly reviews with various stakeholders to understand variance analysis and improve the accuracy of forecasting and also challenge where necessary, paying attention to P&L and Capex implications.
-Liaise with the central Group Management Accounts and Group Financial Accounts teams to ensure rules around capitalisation are adhered to and also undertake a monthly accruals process.
-Support the development of robust business cases for new change projects, and challenge assumptions used to construct them to ensure robustness and ability to track.
-Develop a model to track and report on the budgeted benefits across the group as a result of Change activity, forecasting this for the year and gaining approval from budget holders that this has been achieved. This will include both cost reduction and income improvement; whilst also working closely with the Commercial Finance Managers.


The person;

-CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified Accountant
-Experience of building and maintaining complex spreadsheet
-Experience owning budgeting and forecasting process for a cost centre or division
-Comfortable in challenging a range of stakeholders
