Part Qualified Finance Analyst - Castleford area

Sewell Wallis are exclusively recruiting for a Financial Analyst to join a well-known, highly reputable and internationally recognised service focused business based within the Castleford area. The role offers great commercial exposure and a clear progression plan so therefore the client is looking for an ambitious, driven candidate.

The successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced environment and will be mainly responsible for building and maintaining relationships with non-finance managers and will have an analytical approach to their work in order to help solve problems. This is an excellent opportunity for a part qualified candidate or an experienced Analyst with excellent Excel skills to really develop and progress their skill set. The business has an international presence and the role will provide support to both the Operational Finance team and the Finance Business Partnering Team.

The main purpose of this role is to support the Finance Business Partners with budgeting, performance and costing analysis and so the role will involve limited exposure to the month end process but an understanding and some practical experience of the process is required. The main duties of the role will include but won't be limited to :-

- Proactively providing timely, insightful and accurate financial analysis and monthly reporting packs to the management team and the Finance Business Partners
-Producing information both statistical and commentary based around budgeting and planning and analysis around costings and headcount
-Assisting with the budgeting process and supporting with MI reporting
-Producing and assisting with the monthly management accounts and associated balance sheets
-Helping to develop and implement KPI's to help monitor business performance and working with key stakeholders and advising on what indicators are important
-Developing reporting packs and supporting the Finance Business Partners with ad-hoc analysis duties
-Helping the business to understand key areas of financial focus such as business stream profitability, margin analysis and the cost effectiveness of individual sections of the business
-Helping to influence change across the business and improving processes and adding value where possible
-Working with the wider finance team and ensuring that they understand business timetables and expectations in relation to financial outputs

The ideal candidate will:-

-Be Part Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or will be a Finance Analyst with excellent Excel skills
-Have experience of working with a number of non-finance stakeholders
-Have excellent communication skills and will have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships including management
-Be highly numerate with excellent attention to detail and will be able to make sense of complex data and interpret key trends
-Be confident to support and challenge key stakeholders in financial matters with a clear ability and confidence to communicate and present analysis
-Have excellent, ideally advanced Excel skills and will pick up new skills quickly
-Preferably have had exposure to SQL, however this isn't a requirement
-Have strong attention to detail and will be able to work towards tight deadlines under pressure
