Management Accountant

We have a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-known business based in Sheffield as they look to appoint a Management Accountant into their team. This role is based in Sheffield and they offer a hybrid approach to working where you can working from home 2-3 days a week if you wish.

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include;

Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts
Preparation of all journals and final GL balances including review of month end balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records and financial systems
Assist in the preparation and production of the statutory accounts, as and when required in accordance with the relevant accounting principles and the current legislation
To provide assistance to the Group Financial Controller in responding to queries regarding statutory accounts
Work with department heads to prepare budget, forecast and business plans
Assistance in monitoring and review of performance against the above plans
Work with the auditors in the preparation of the subsidiary Financial Statements
Preparation of bank and cheque payments in accordance with BACS/group procedures, where deficiencies exist, take appropriate action according to group procedures
Preparation and completion of bank reconciliations and posting of cash books
Preparation of returns for Corporation tax, VAT and other relevant taxes, ensuring these returns and resulting payments are submitted on time
Keep up to date with and ensure all relevant regulations/legislation is complied with
To prepare daily cash figures by entering payments and receipts into appropriate company cash books

Suitable applicants will;

-Be qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA or will be qualified by experience
-This client will consider candidates who are looking to make their first move from practice or will be working in a similar role in industry
-You will have excellent communication skills
-Strong systems capability and will be an intermediate/advanced user of excel
