Interim Financial Controller

We are representing a prestigious, acquisitive, professional services group with a national and international presence as they look to appoint an Interim Financial Controller into their finance team in Sheffield. This business offers excellent flexible working benefits and can therefore accommodate an element of home working or to be based out of another office (Manchester or Leeds) part of the working week.

This role will be appointed on a 12 month FTC with the view to a possible extension up to 24 months at that point. For the right person this business may potentially be able to offer a permanent role.

Duties will include;

*Leading and managing the key financial planning processes by maintaining schedules, challenging assumptions, and ensuring our Finance systems are updated accordingly.
*Providing support to the Group Financial Accounting teams during the regular balance sheet reviews for the key areas of financial transactions.
*Ensuring the Firm's income recognition policy is adhered to; helping to support Group Finance to ensure this critical area of the balance sheet is robust, accurate, and subject to external auditor scrutiny.
*Leading the development of new visual dashboards / analyses to help the business monitor the teams on a timely basis.
*Understand how each department within VPI operates and interpret Key Performance Indicator's to enable actions to improve divisional profitability.
*Liaising with the central Group Management Accounts team to ensure relevant information and reports are supplied in a timely manner.
*Working collaboratively with all colleagues across VPI, Business Performance, and Finance; working closely with the Commercial Finance Insight, Group Management reporting, Group Financial Accounts, and Group FP&A teams.

Experience required:

*CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified (qualified by experience with significant relevant experience in a complex, high volume data business also considered)
*Extensive experience of working in an analytical role
*Strong financial controls knowledge and UK GAAP technical skills
*Experience of building and maintaining complex spreadsheets
