We're working with a reputable and highly sought after business with offices in Sheffield, Manchester and Leeds who are looking for a Head of Financial Control, in an exciting time for business as they continue to grow.

Your Role;

Working as the Head of Financial Control, you'll be a senior leader within the Group's Finance department. You will lead on Financial Control across the group including the delegation of authorities, balance sheet control and key accounting judgement areas. You will manage the accounting for acquisitions, ensure the integrity of management and financial accounts, and oversee subsidiary accounting. Ensure that group accounting policies and controls are appropriate and up to date.

What You'll Be Doing;

*Oversee the preparation and submission to Companies House of group consolidated financial statements, and all subsidiary accounts; ensuring they are 'plc' standard
*Responsible for maintenance of group accounting policies and ensuring that controls in place are adequate and appropriate, as well as consistent across the group. Where improvement opportunities are identified, implement the improved controls and processes
*Oversee the maintenance of the group fixed asset register
*Review all balance sheet accounts including WIP and disbursements, manage provisioning policies and ensure appropriate. Perform detailed review of quarterly WIP valuation exercise
*Manage the audit process for the group, including all subsidiaries
*Assist the Head of Financial Reporting as otherwise required.


What We're Looking For;

*You'll need to be a qualified accountant, with previous experience in a complex medium, or large sized business; demonstrate technical accounting knowledge under UK GAAP and IFRS
*You must have an ability to articulate complex financial information in a concise, informative manner
*A strong background of implementing and managing strong financial control environments in complex regulated businesses.
*A confident communicator and able to build relationships quickly.
*A credible leader, where you'll take accountability for your own actions and those of the wider team.
