Group Accountant

Job description

Sewell Wallis are currently working with a fast paced global business in North Leeds who are looking to recruit a Group Accountant into their Head Office team.

Ideally you will be Practice trained looking for either a 1st or 2nd move into Industry, along with a strong background in group /financial accounting, as well tax.

Reporting to the Head of Group Finance and Tax, your responsibilities will include:-

  • Preparing annual statutory group and consolidated accounts
  • Performing balance sheet reviews to ensure Group and regional submissions are in line with Group guidelines
  • Analysing and preparing of the annual consolidated group budget
  • Liaising with the auditors
  • Reviewing corporation tax schedules in the monthly consolidation packs submitted by the regions to ensure balances are maintained and accounted for correctly
  • Reviewing annual corporate tax returns and tax computations submitted by the regions to ensure differences between accounting and taxable profit are explained and understood
  • Consolidation of global tax accounting to support the Group Head of Tax and the Group Finance and Tax Manager in monitoring global effective tax rates, identification of tax risks and improve accuracy of tax reporting
  • Assistingin the implementation of new processes and procedures across the group
  • Ad hoc finance project work

Requirements

  • Fully qualified Accountant, ideally ACA / ACCA with a Practice background
  • Strong background in group and financial accounts / working knowledge of tax
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
