Sewell Wallis are delighted to be working with a fantastic, global manufacturing company based in south Bradford, who are on the look out for a new Financial Controller to join their Senior Management Team.Reporting into an enthusiastic and highly approachable MD, you will be required to lead and motivate a small finance team, as well as supporting the MD with some key commercial and strategic decisions. Our client has just had one of their most profitable years, despite the pandemic, and are looking at potential acquisitions to grow the business further.
This is a unique opportunity for someone driven and ambitious, to expand on their commercial experience and business partner across the entire company with non-finance departments. You will be the number one finance person, so your guidance and expertise will be heavily relied upon by the rest of the Management Team.
Leadership is a crucial part of this Financial Controller position, it is essential that you have experience of managing or have a real passion to do so with the right attitude.
Your duties will include the following:-
-Lead a small finance team consisting of 3 individuals, holding regular one to ones and providing them with clear development plans
-Be responsible for evaluating the current finance team and where improvements need to be made or additional resource is needed
-Delegate to your team efficiently so you can continue to grow and develop in your own role
-Produce the monthly management accounts for review including P&L, balance sheet and commentary
-Cash flow forecasting
-Production and monitoring of KPI's
-Business partnering with non-finance departments across the business to provide analysis and reporting
-Identify cost saving opportunities by building robust relationships across the company, to really understand what is driving profitability and what isn't
-Support the MD with key commercial decisions and play a key part in helping to identify potential acquisitions
-Show true leadership skills throughout every task you take on
-Process and system improvement work - identifying any areas of concern to the MD and support with implementing the necessary changes
-Monthly payroll

You must be a qualified accountant to be considered. Experience working within manufacturing would be desirable, but it is not essential. An effective communicator and someone who is proactive and thinks on their feet is certainly essential.
