Sewell Wallis are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with a fantastic SME based in south Leeds.

This is a newly created position for a Financial Controller to join a thriving manufacturing company, reporting straight into the MD with the view to move into an FD position in the future. This company are set to double their turnover in the next 12 months, making it an extremely exciting time to join them.

As the Financial Controller your role will include the following duties:

  • Managing a small finance function, developing and growing the team as required holding regular one to ones
  • Ownership of month end duties and completion of the management accounts
  • Support with identifying areas of improvement and to enhance financial controls
  • Work with the MD to contribute strategic insights to support financial planning
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow
  • Business partner with areas outside of finance to support with budgeting and forecasting
  • VAT returns

To be considered for this opportunity we require candidates to meet the following criteria:

  • Be either a qualified or qualified by experience accountant
  • Have demonstrable knowledge of the manufacturing sector
  • Have confident in being the number one finance person on site, reporting into the MD
  • Be ambitious, self-motivated and enjoy managing junior members of finance
