Financial Accountant

Sewell Wallis are working on a new Financial Accountant opportunity with a prestigious client in Sheffield. This is a great mixture of financial accounting and management accounts, working with a well-known business which boasts continued organic growth. This opportunity is brand new to work exclusively with a new division within the company.

You'll be tasked with all aspects of accounting and financial control around the selected division for the group.

Your role will be responsible for bringing together the accounting, management, forecasting and reconciliation aspects within the finance team, however, as this is a new role, you'll be given the opportunity to shape and develop this role.

The job;

* Quarterly review of management accounts for the selected companies, including reconciliation.
* Detailed analysis of performance and reporting back to management.
* Work with the rest of the financial control team to develop a detailed understanding of monthly review of risk areas, provisioning and identification of areas for improvement.
* Co-ordinating the follow up of concluded matters from the quarterly balance valuation.
* Having full responsibility for certain group balance sheet areas, such as leases and fixed assets.
*Assisting the Head of Finance as otherwise required.


The person;

* Excellent technical knowledge, including up to date UK GAAP and IFRS knowledge
* Experience of working in audit and financial accounts, preferably within a large accountancy practice.
* ACA or ACCA qualified
* Advanced spreadsheet skills to understand and develop complex computer models with little supervision.
* Advanced Word and PowerPoint skills.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
