Due to further expansion of their team they are now looking to appoint a Financial Accountant into their highly successful Financial Controls team.

This is an ideal opportunity for a newly qualified Accountant or a high calibre individual looking to make a move from a recognised accountancy practice or perhaps a second time mover looking to move for the opportunity to work for the chance to move for progression reasons.

This role has a commercial element with exposure to the key business stakeholders as this role has a big part to play in the firms acquisitions, disposals and significant transactions.

Duties will include;

Preparation and submission to Companies House of group consolidated financial statements, and all subsidiary accounts.
Assist with supervision of year end audit.
Assist Head of Financial Control with maintenance of group accounting policies and ensuring that controls in place are adequate and appropriate, as well as consistent across the group.
Maintenance of the group chart of accounts and cost centre structure
Preparation of audit packs for all group companies
All share capital related matters including share based payments, shareholders register, MST and any transactions involving shares e.g. acquisitions.
Responsible for monthly pension payments on a timely and accurate basis, liaise with payroll as required.
Review pension scheme accounts; manage audit and other returns required.
Preparation of group consolidation workings, acquisition accounting, goodwill and amortisation. Assist with shadow IFRS monthly reporting
Detailed review of certain balance sheet accounts, including developing additional analysis as required.
Preparation of disbursement provisioning calculations and development of policies as required. Liaison with the relevant business areas to develop a detailed understanding and implement improvements in processes and controls.
Continual review of goodwill and investments, including maintaining a model suitable for audit.
Assist with Cells accounting, budgeting, reconciliations, claims control, manage reporting requirements thereon, including detailed analysis of cells performance and claims.

To be considered you will ideally have the following profile:

ACA or ACCA qualified
Excellent technical knowledge including up to date UK GAAP and IFRS knowledge
Experience of working in audit and financial accounts, preferably within a large accountancy practice
