We are working with a £13m t/o business that's part of an international manufacturing group based in Sheffield in recruiting their Finance Manager for them. It's a great opportunity for an ambitious accountant who is looking to take the lead role within an SME. Reporting to the Managing Director and managing a small team, the successful candidate will hold a fully autonomous role controlling all financial transactions, reporting, forecasting and planning and taking an active role in the steer of the strategic direction of the company.

This business is based within close proximity to the motorway and is within an easy commute of Rotherham, Worksop, Chesterfield and Wakefield.

Duties will include;

To ensure effective operation of the Finance function and manage / develop the Finance
team
To ensure compliance with financial policies, processes and procedures including internal
controls and create / update as necessary and in line with IFRS
To be the key point of contact with the external accountants and auditors as required
To provide financial support to commercial team and senior management to improve
overall profitability
Prepare monthly reports as necessary in line with deadlines
Analysis of general expenses, identify variances and opportunities to make improvements, drive efficiencies and reduce costs across the business
Treasury management including reconciliations, reporting and forecasting
Involvement in the company's budget process as necessary
Management of accruals / prepayments
Management of company vehicle policy and authorise new vehicles in line with guidelines
To ensure stocks are ordered in accordance with forecast / customer requirements
To ensure credit control procedure is adhered to ensuring achievement of agreed KPI

Suitable applicants will:

Be qualified - ACCA, ACA or CIMA however experience and attitude is more important to them so they will consider candidate who are part qualified or QBE.
Have broad experience in all of the above areas with an emphasis being on the ability to analyse and interpret the numbers.
Be a strong people manager and will be able to demonstrate the ability to motivate and co-ordinate a small team.
