Finance Business Partner

Job description

Sewell Wallis are currently recruiting for a Finance Business Partner to join a organisation with offices on the outskirts of Bolton.*

This is a newly created role and our client is looking for a fully qualified Accountant, ideally ACA / CIMA / ACCA who has experience of working in a commercial role.

Reporting to the Finance Director your responsibilities will include:-

  • Working closely Finance and Commerical / Operational Teams
  • Attending weekly project reviews, to gain a detailed understanding of key contracts
  • Identifying financial implications of issues/opportunities identified and work as part of the cross-functional team to minimise risks and maximise opportunities
  • Working closely with the Commercial team to assist with the preparation and review of Monthly Cost and Value reports on key long term contracts, including challenging estimates to complete, understanding variations and scope changes, and ensuring they have been accurately accounted for
  • Monthly management accounts and variance analysis for submission to the Group finance team
  • Liaising with transactional finance
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Processing and monitoring expenses and credit card expenditure
  • Monthly cash forecasting and reporting
  • Quarterly forecast/annual budget processes
  • Review of VAT returns
  • Assisting with the statutory audit and preparation of the financial statements
  • Improving the financial processes to assist business development
  • Ensuring good internal controls are maintained
  • Ad hoc project work

Requirements

  • Fully qualified Accountant, ideally ACA / CIMA / ACCA (c5 years PQE)
  • Experience of working in a FBP role with exposure to non Finance teams, ideally within a Group function
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to work with senior stakeholders
  • Good team player
