Finance Analyst - South Leeds - Hybrid

Sewell Wallis are currently recruiting for a Finance Analyst on a permanent basis. Based within the South Leeds area, this is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive company that pride themselves on their high levels of staff retention and offer a clear support and development programme for the successful candidate. This role will allow exposure to all areas of the business and is a key role in supporting the Financial Controller in providing reporting and analysis tools for the business.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analysis skills and will have a strong grasp of Excel with a willingness to learn new skills and techniques. Experience and some understanding of an accountancy month end process is essential. However, on a practical basis, the role will involve minimal, month end processes/duties and will be more focused around financial planning and analysis. Part qualified candidates who are towards the end of their studies and are looking for an analytically focused role will be considered.

The client are offering flexible, hybrid working with the ideal being 2/3 days in the office, however this can be reviewed based on candidate preference.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:-

-Reconciling various reports on a weekly and monthly basis using data systems.
-Identifying and highlighting any anomalies and correcting data issues.
-Producing management information reports on a regular basis and developing new processes in order to improve efficiencies.
-Producing KPI's and associated analysis.
-Supporting other areas of the business on pricing, customer reporting and cost modelling.
-Preparing weekly and monthly financial reports.
-Assisting with and developing new reporting tools and carrying out the testing and implementation of new processes.
-Supporting the team and developing own skillset by experiencing and using different analysis tools.
-Producing variance analysis and presenting findings back to the appropriate department or individual.
-Liaising with other teams within the business and business partnering with both finance and non finance stakeholders around any analytical queries or project based needs.
-Dealing with quarterly audit files and supporting with the external audit process.
-Assisting with quarterly VAT and corporation tax preparation.
-Contributing to monthly forecasting and annual budget processes.
-Developing models that help with decision-making.
-Taking ownership for a new entity of the business and supporting with the accountancy month end process - balance sheet reconciliations, posting journals and prepayments and raising a small numbers of invoices and assisting with elements of the payroll process.

You will:-

-Have experience of working within a similar analysis focused role and will have some understanding/exposure to the month end process.
-Have strong analytical and numerical skills.
-Have good attention to detail.
-Hold excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings back to key stakeholders.
-Ideally have Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills and have an ability to grasp new skills quickly.
-Have good organisational and planning skills with the ability to work proactively and unsupervised when required.
-Be able to look for ways to improve current processes and streamline existing procedures.
