We are delighted to be recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant for a long-standing and well-established manufacturing company. The company are looking for a motivated individual to join their dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity for ownership of the accounting and reporting function within their small Finance team.

Based in the scenic Peak District, it is commutable from lots of areas areas such as Buxton, Glossop, West Sheffield, Bakewell, Baslow etc.

Assistant Management Accountant Opportunities:

  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Collaborate with the management team to prepare and report on key performance indicators.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire UK Finance function to provide support and holiday cover.

The ideal candidate:

  • Qualification in a relevant financial subject or 2+ years of relevant Finance experience.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Skilled in using Excel, experience with Microsoft Power BI is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with ERP software, particularly Microsoft Dynamics, is beneficial.
