We're working with a brilliant business looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to assist in the provision of Accounting, Compliance and Taxation services to entities within the business, operating to required KPIs and service levels. Acting as a member of the Reporting & Compliance team, the post-holder will liaise with specified Business Partners, Group Reporting & Control, and any other relevant entities within the business.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Assistant Financial Accountant will undertake the following duties and responsibilities

*Assisting in the provision of Taxation, Accounting and Compliance services
*Ensuring financial information is provided on a timely basis, to allow sufficient time for review by business partners and project leaders
*Holding ownership of several balance sheet accounts in the reconciliation process
*Assisting with the month-end process
*Preparation and submission of other statutory reporting requirements
*Assisting with year-end statutory accounts preparation
*Assistance in the preparation and submission of internal reporting requirements, including consolidated monthly management accounts and other ad hoc statistics
*Assisting with the development of accounting policies and processes across the entities in the steel division
*Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with nominated internal and external customers to facilitate achievement of service levels and KPIs
*Supporting the Reporting & Compliance Section Manager in identifying any problem issues within the nominal ledgers for specific businesses, and ensuring appropriate and timely escalation to facilitate prompt resolution


REQUIRED SKILLS
The Assistant Financial Accountant will hold the following skills and experience;


*Holds or is working towards a relevant accountancy qualification, such as ACCA/ACA/AAT
*Solid knowledge and ability of relevant IFRS accounting standards.
*Competency with Microsoft Excel, including VLookUps and Pivot tables
