6 Months FTC Accounts and Audit Assistant

Job description

A well established professional practice near Elland, seek a capable Accounts Assistant to join their team to support them during a busy period. The position is initially for a period of 6 months, however this has high potential to be extended.

The role will report directly into one of the partners who has responsibility of overseeing the accounts preparation function of the team. This role would suit someone who has good accounting skills gained within a practice setting.

The ideal candidate will be able to work as part of a team and also on their own initiative. You will be able to maintain and develop relationships with a wide ranging client base and will have responsibility for the accounts function for a portfolio of clients from start to finish.

Key responsibilities of the role will be:-

- Preparation of limited company accounts and corporation tax computations.
- Preparation of accounts for sole traders and partnerships.
- Assisting with consolidations and cash flow statements.
- Preparation and review of VAT returns and dealing with VAT queries.
- General bookkeeping.
- Dealing with general business queries from clients.

The ideal candidate will:-

- Be AAT qualified, or working towards.
- Have previous experience of working within a practice environment.
- Have previous experience of working with the Sage 50 accounting software.
- Have excellent communication skills and be able to liaise at all levels.
