Flexible finance work. Great businesses. Your next assignment starts here.
Whether you're looking for your next interim challenge, a temporary role that fits around life, or a way to gain experience across different businesses, Sewell Wallis connects accountancy and finance professionals with temporary, contract and interim assignments across Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire.
Why choose a temporary role?
Temporary and interim work gives you choice. Choice over when you work, where you work and the kind of challenge you take on next. For some, it's a way to build experience fast across different businesses and systems. For others, it's a career in its own right, bringing senior expertise to the businesses that need it most.
Whatever brings you to flexible work, you deserve a recruiter who understands what you want and works hard to find it. Our consultants know the businesses we recruit for and the local finance market, so we can match you with assignments that suit your skills, your experience and the way you want to work.
Assignments across the full finance function
We place temporary and interim professionals at every level, including:
- Transactional finance: purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, accounts assistants, payroll
- Part-qualified and qualified accountants: assistant accountants, management accountants, financial accountants, project accountants
- Specialist roles: systems accountants, tax, audit, business partners, financial analysts
- Senior and leadership roles: finance managers, financial controllers, Heads of Finance, Finance Directors and CFOs
Assignments range from a few days to several months, from covering a busy period to leading a major project.
Why work temporary or interim roles?
Flexibility: Choose assignments that fit your life, your availability and your goals.
Experience: Work across different businesses, sectors and systems, and build a CV that stands out.
Variety: New teams, new challenges and new ways of working.
Impact: As an interim, you're brought in to make a difference, whether that's leading change, delivering a project or steadying a team.
A route to permanent: Many temporary assignments are a chance to show a business what you can do. If it's the right fit for both sides, it can become a permanent role.
Work and get paid in the way that suits you.
Weekly timesheets or day rate
Temporary roles typically run on weekly timesheets, so you're paid for the hours you work. Interim and contract assignments are usually agreed on a day rate.
Either way, we agree your rate with you upfront, so you know exactly where you stand before you start.
On our payroll or the client's
Depending on the assignment, you'll either:
- Work through Sewell Wallis: You're on our payroll. You submit your timesheet and we handle your pay.
- Join the client's payroll: You're employed directly by the business for the length of the assignment, and paid through their payroll.
Your consultant will explain how each assignment works before you accept it, so there are no surprises.
