Recruitment Consultant
Meet Our Recruiter
Sue Wallis
About the Role
Ready to pick up a warm desk, help us grow, and join a business that treats you like a person, not a number?
At Sewell Wallis, we do things a bit differently. We’re not completely reinventing the wheel (spoiler: no recruiters are), but your experience working for us will be different to other places. No empty KPIs. No unattainable targets. Just good people doing great work, and a manager who’ll help you steer your career the way you want it to go.
We’re looking for someone brilliant to join our Transactional Finance division in Sheffield, covering permanent and temporary roles.
Whether you’re already experienced at finding transactional finance talent, or you’re ready for a new challenge, this is your chance to join a business that is trying to change the game.
What will you be doing?
- Managing transactional finance roles up to £35k.
- You’ll work on positions falling under purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll and credit control, as well as filling roles with titles such as finance assistant, accounts trainee, billing clerk and assistant accountant. We also work on graduate finance roles which will be part of your responsibilities.
- This is a warm desk, covering the full 360 cycle. Our emphasis is on relationship building: working with new clients to develop those connections, and maintaining and strengthening the ones we have.
- You’ll have the support of an experienced candidate manager.
- You’ll also work really closely with our part-qualified and qualified finance recruiters.
- You’ll pitch for new business and PSL opportunities.
- Work with our Marketing Manager to create and share relevant, useful content to position yourself as a market expert and stand out from the crowd.
- You’ll represent Sewell Wallis at industry events and networking opportunities.
Who we’re looking for?
You’ll thrive in this role if you are:
- An experienced transactional finance or a professional services recruiter, or a strong recruiter with alternative sector experience looking for a new challenge.
- Commercially sharp, with a track record of business development and client relationship building.
- A collaborative team player who gets stuck in and supports others.
- Someone who loves the recruitment industry and wants to be part of shaping a business, not just working in one.
- Full of ideas and always looking for better ways of doing things.
What’s in it for you?
- A market-leading salary, and one of the best bonus schemes in the region.
- You’ll work on a hybrid model - we’re open to what this looks like for the right person. We understand life happens, even on work days.
- Flexible hours - our standard is 9am to 5:30pm, but if this doesn’t work for you, we’ll figure it out together.
- 25 days holiday + your birthday off + bank holidays + full Christmas shutdown.
- Private healthcare.
- Development and learning opportunities, based on what you want from your career – there’s no one size fits all here.
- The chance to work in a growing, high-performing division for a business with no toxic hierarchy, where we’ve all got each other’s backs.
- A culture built around autonomy and honesty.
- Being part of a diverse team, with access to well-being training and mental health first aiders.
- Leaders who work shoulder to shoulder with you, supporting your career development.
