About the Role

Sewell Wallis are recruiting for a Financial Controller for a leading international manufacturing business based in South Yorkshire. This role will be based in Doncaster on a hybrid basis.

This Financial Controller role is focused on operational finance across multiple sites in Europe, with responsibility for leading a small team and partnering closely with the senior leadership team. It offers the opportunity to make an impact on financial performance, compliance, and strategic decision-making in a purpose-led organisation.

What will you be doing

  • Business partnering with operational leadership across multiple sites
  • Leading and developing the European Operations Finance team
  • Contributing to the Finance Leadership Team and wider strategic initiatives
  • Delivering accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and compliance
  • Driving improvements in controls, audit, and cost management
  • Overseeing capital expenditure projects and post‑completion reviews
  • Supporting statutory accounts and Health & Safety strategy through financial oversight

What skills are we looking for

  • Professional Accountancy Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong business acumen and ability to add value through financial insight
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing a finance team
  • High energy, adaptable, and comfortable with occasional travel
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and compliance
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and operate as a trusted business partner
