Finance Analyst

Salary/Rate:£30,000 - £34,000 per annum

About the Role

Sewell Wallis are working with a large and well-established retailer that is looking for a Finance Analyst to join their Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a large, reputable company and expand your skills.

What will you be doing?

  • Establishing and maintaining robust relationships with third-party partners
  • Actively engaging in the management of warehouse stock control
  • Responding to ad hoc queries from various individuals across the business as needed
  • Monitoring, identifying, and investigating areas of concern, coordinating with warehousing teams, IT, and/or other Finance teams as necessary
  • Responding to requests for ad hoc reports within required deadlines
  • Tracking against the budget/forecast and investigating any discrepancies
  • Ensuring clients can make necessary financial provisions and adjustments through accurate financial accounting
  • Preparing weekly and monthly reports on stock movement and shrinkage, detailing stock losses and gains
  • Preparing and analysing balance sheet reconciliations, providing justifications for all exceptional items or unusual balances to ensure minimal reconciliation points

What skills are we looking for?

  • Excellent attention to detail with an analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to analyse and interpret large volumes of information
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Enthusiastic and driven, with a genuine passion for self-development
  • Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) or a graduate willing to study
  • Adaptable and able to keep pace with a fast-moving environment
  • Commercially aware with an understanding of core business processes
