Assistant Management Accountant

About the Role

Sewell Wallis are delighted to be working with our client, a well-established manufacturing business based in Sheffield, as they look to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to join an organisation offering an autonomous role with scope for study support and managing a small team. The role will work closely with the Group Finance Director and oversee two long-standing staff members.

What will you be doing?

  • Assist with the preparation of Monthly Management Accounts for 2 Companies
  • Analyse P&L variances and oversee reconciliation of Balance sheet control accounts
  • Administer and Reconcile Invoice Finance
  • VAT preparation and reconciliation
  • Weekly Cashflow forecast and approve monthly Payment runs
  • Reconcile Inter- company accounts
  • Prepare Annual Budget Workings
  • Prepare for Group audit and liaise with Group Auditors
  • Support Group Finance Director to meet increasing business demands
  • Manage 2 members of staff
  • Overhaul of current systems and procedures
  • Train up on all aspects of Month end processes with a view to improvements

What experience do we need?

  • Part Qualified CIMA Accountant with experience in financial management
  • Ability to lead 2 members of staff with transactional responsibility and be proactive with improvement solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deal with Auditors and work at the Group level with our companies
  • Proficiency in using accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations
  • Experience in Industry preferred
