Assistant Accountant

We are delighted to be recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a dynamic, thriving team in Rotherham!

This is a varied role, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and compliant management of the financial operations. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will receive strong training and support to enable you to thrive in this hands-on role! This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with existing and relevant experience to really take their role to the next level.

Your day-to-day tasks will encompass a wide range of Assistant Accountant duties, including:
* Preparation of invoices for all work carried out by the company.
* Maintaining the Sales Ledger, posting, and reconciling payments.
* Credit control.
* Banking.
* Bank reconciliation.
* Preparation of Month End documents for HSBC bank.
* Preparation and balancing of month-end reports for the accountant.
* Maintaining the Purchase Ledger.
* Coding and posting of invoices.
* Preparation of suggested payments for both cheques and BACS.
* Processing payments.
* Preparation and balancing of Month End Reports for the accountant.
* Journals for the Nominal Ledger.
* Printing of all Month End and Year End Reports.
* Working with the accountant to produce monthly Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet.
* Maintenance and balancing of Cash Book.
* Maintenance of Petty Cash.
* Maintain Approved Supplier Files in line with Purchasing Process (Process 8:5) as required by Quality Management System.
* Liaising with the Finance Director regularly to discuss various aspects of accounts.
* Prepare Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Turnover, GP%, and Profit.
* Analysis of Fuel consumption.
* Analysis of Manager Phone Bills.
* Extracting information from the accounts and presenting it on spreadsheets for various projects.

The ideal Assistant Accountant
* Previous experience working in a similar role
* Capable of working accurately and meeting deadlines.
* Able to work independently or as part of a team.
* Proficient in handling all aspects of company accounts from start to finish.
