Junior Finance Business Partner
About the Role
Sewell Wallis is delighted to be working on a fantastic new opportunity for an immediately available candidate to join a Sheffield-based organisation looking for a Junior Finance Business Partner to join their team on an initial temporary basis. There is potential scope for this to become permanent however, the initial term will see the successful candidate assisting the Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Business Partner through a busy period in a dynamic role.
As part of the Finance Business Partner Team, this role is key to providing a Finance Business Partner service to the organisation's budget holders.
What will you be doing?
- Liaison with the Procurement Team and department credit card holders to ensure that expenditure made through credit cards is accurately recorded.
- Posting of monthly journals to allocate credit card expenditure to departmental budgets.
- Responsible for preparing and posting monthly journals using data provided by other departments.
- Responsible for issuing month-end finance reports to budget holders.
- Provide support with quarterly re-forecast and annual budgeting process.
- Supporting the Finance Business Partner & Senior Finance Business Partner with coding and budget queries.
- Responsibility for ensuring that procedure notes are reviewed in line with activities and updates provided on at least an annual basis and in line with any process changes agreed.
- Maintain effective communication with Finance colleagues, and colleagues throughout the organisation to ensure an excellent and consistent Finance service provision.
What skills are we looking for?
- Commenced/intending to commence study towards a Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA/ CIMA)
- Technically proficient, with experience in a management accounting role, competent with double-entry
- Strong interpersonal skills: able to explain financial information in a manner which is clear to non-financial managers.
- Ability to challenge and influence budget holders
