Deputy Head of Financial Reporting and Compliance

Salary/Rate:£45,000 - £55,000 per annum + hybrid, 20% bonus

About the Role

What your day will look like:

  • Providing strategic support and operational leadership for the Financial Reporting and Compliance Team
  • Apply expert knowledge in developing and delivering a high-quality Financial Reporting and Compliance Service, providing diverse and comprehensive support
  • Supporting the Head of Financial Reporting and Compliance to prepare committee/board papers to support operational and strategic decision making
  • Regularly review balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow actuals and forecasts, providing early notice of any potential issues arising
  • Lead on the preparation of regulatory reporting, such as the annual financial statements, VAT return and partial exemption submission
  • Lead on the management of the year end audit, being the principal day to day contact with the external audit team; ensure all information requested is provided by finance and other areas.
  • Lead on the provision of treasury management, preparation of cash flow forecasts and banking arrangements and provide investment proposal options to the Head of Financial Reporting and Compliance, to be presented to the CFO for approval.

The ideal candidate MUST have the following experience:

  • Qualified accountant (any level)
  • Large, complex business background
  • Lead on year end audit
  • Experience Managing a team of accountants
  • Advanced in accounting systems and Microsoft excel
  • Significant experience of leading a financial accounting function, contributing to the strategic development of financial reporting and compliance activities across a large organisation
