A look back at our year supporting Crisis UK

In 2023, Crisis UK were our charity of choice. We’ve had a great year, fundraising for the UK’s national charity for people experiencing homelessness. Since 1967, Crisis have worked directly with people who need support to get out of homelessness and into long term housing.

With offices in two major cities in Yorkshire, Sewell Wallis chose Crisis as our charity partner as we felt it important to raise awareness of the vital work they do across Yorkshire and the Humber. We’re deeply committed to supporting the communities we live and work in; Sheffield currently has one of the highest rates of homelessness across the region, with Leeds having the highest number of rough sleepers, making Crisis an obvious cause for us to support over the course of the year.

Over the course of 2023, we ran a number of events to help us raise money for this vital cause, including two bake sales, a company-wide dog walk, and a 5-a-side football tournament. We also held very well attended pub quizzes in both cities. We want to say a huge thank you to those who came along to support, and to those who donated – every penny matters!

Homelessness is an issue that can affect us all at some point in our lives. Crisis UK help people understand the immediate pressures of homelessness, and have decades of experience supporting those in need, as well as undertaking research and petitioning for political changes. Supporting Crisis allowed us to raise funds for this urgent work to continue. Our JustGiving page will stay live, if anyone would still like to contribute.

Heading into 2024, we’re supporting Brain Tumour Research, a charity close to our hearts due to the tireless work they put into finding a cure for brain tumours and funding vital research across the UK. You can read more about why this is such an important cause to us here.
