Group Financial Controller

Sewell Wallis have a rare Group Financial Controller opportunity to join a high growth business who are in the midst of multiple acquisitions with more to follow. They are seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to oversee the senior finance team of six, as well as getting hands on with current acquisition integration and full on experience in acquisitions from start to finish.

The Group Financial Controller role can be based almost 100% from home, with offices based in Barnsley.

The Group Financial Controller will provide a comprehensive, effective and efficient shared finance service for the group, holding overall responsibility for the effective, compliant and efficient output of the finance and accounts function.


The role;

* Line management of the Senior Finance Team.
* Responsible for management information production for the Group, including the delivery of monthly management information for the Group and its trading divisions.
* Formal reporting through delegated team as required on a regular basis, to include profit and loss statements for the trading divisions and group business and summary Board reporting.
* Produce and manage rolling short and medium-term cash flow forecasts, identifying and planning for seasonal/other variances.
* Supporting the Group Finance Director in the business planning (budgeting) process.
* In conjunction with the Group Finance Director, ensure new business opportunities are reviewed and evaluated for commercial benefit and for implementation.
* Implement strong controls and processes to enhance the reporting information currently available.
* In conjunction with the Group Finance Director the review, creation and implementation of relevant financial policy and procedure to drive best practice and efficiency at all times.
* Promote and deliver strong accounting and cost control within the business.
* Advising, training and developing the finance team and other colleagues with financial procedures, compliance as well as regulatory and statutory issues.
* Demonstrate at all times a strong and clear knowledge of statutory and forthcoming changes that affect both company and stakeholders within it.
* Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, relevant tax, PAYE, pension and other returns are completed accurately and submitted to HMRC by the due date.
* Coordinate and assist with the production of the yearly audited financial statements as required.
* Ensure timely submission and sign off of the statutory accounts and project management of the audit process.
* Ensure full compliance at all times with external funders, relevant legal requirements relating to covenant and related matters. Advising proactively and formally of Group performance against covenants and related matters where applicable.
* Liaise with the Company insurance brokers in respect of insurance claims, queries and provision and ensure a yearly and timely review of arrangements, ensuring optimum value and benefit for the annual renewal.
* Oversee the prompt collection of debts to agreed KPI's and through management of team and resources.
* Provide financial and commercial support to all stakeholders.
