Financial Accountant

Sewell Wallis are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a rapidly growing FS business in Leeds

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Accountant, ideally ACA / ACCA / CIMA to work within a fast paced Finance team and your responsibilities will include:-

Taking ownership of the month end close process, working with stakeholders across the business to ensure accurate accounting for assigned retailer portfolios. Own the associated balance sheet reconciliations ensuring high quality support is in place and support monthly balance sheet reporting and analysis
Supporting the Management Accounting Senior Manager with monthly reporting and detailed reviews
Providing insightful analysis of the actuals to the business, including assisting Commercial Finance in understanding the drivers behind reported results
Leading the change programme within financial accounting, working with project owners across the business to complete accurate impact assessments of the strategic and operational change projects on accounting processes
Working with owners across the financial accounting team to build or adapt impacted processes and communicate any accounting impact of the project to business owners
Ensuring all deliverables adhere to the Financial Control Framework and contribute to the delivery of continuous process and control improvements for assigned areas of responsibility

Requirements

ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
Working knowledge of IFRS
High attention to detail, problem solving skills and a desire to understand the wider implications of decisions for the business
Ability to work with non finance teams
Experience of implementing and embedding new or improved finance processes
Strong Excel skills
