Senior Management Accountant

Our client

A fantastic SME based in Dewsbury who offer an innovative range of products all over the world. This organisation has a high performing finance team in place and are now looking to strengthen that team further.

The role

They now have an urgent requirement for a Senior Management Accountant to join their business as soon as possible. This varied position will work closely with the Finance Director and will take on developing a team of 6 finance members. This is a hands-on position and requires someone who is not afraid to get into the detail, whilst keeping a keen eye on the wider finance function.

Duties will include:-

-Managing and motivating the management accounts team and transactional finance team
-Ensuring regular one to ones and coaching is offered where required
-Cover for junior members of the team if they are on holiday, hence why someone hands on is essential
-Guide and support the management accounts team in preparing the management accounts including variance analysis
-Prepare the monthly management accounts for overseas companies
-Review balance sheet reconciliations
-Improve and streamline reporting processes
-Monthly staff expenses
-Assist with preparing the annual audit
-Prepare and submit quarterly VAT return
-Oversee the transactional finance function, supporting the Ledger supervisor with the maintenance of purchase and sales ledger
-Manage the month end stock system
-Cash management

Candidate profile

-A part qualified/qualified by experience accountant
-Comfortable rolling your sleeves up and getting into the detail
-A desire to people manage and previous experience doing so would be desirable but no essential
-Strong attention to detail
-Good working knowledge of purchase and sales ledger from previous positions
-Ideal candidates will have manufacturing experience but this is not essential
