Sewell Wallis are delighted to be working with a leading technology business based in North Yorkshire who have demonstrated exceptional growth over the past 12 months due to completing multiple acquisitions. Our client embraces a fantastic culture within a fast paced and dynamic working environment.

They are now looking to appoint a highly professional and technically strong Head of Finance, to lead them through the next phase and really shape the finance function to support future acquisition plans.

This role will suit someone with a technical accounting background who has successfully demonstrated effective leadership by delegating correctly and continuously developing their staff.

As the Head of Finance, you will report into the CFO and closely partner with them and the CEO to drive the business forward. You will ensure the finance function has robust financial controls in place and oversee all financial accounting, management accounting, billing, collection and purchase ledger. Leading and developing a team of 20+ individuals will be the key focus area within the role. You will take on a fantastic finance function that requires a motivational leader to take it to the next level. Being able to show you can effectively delegate is extremely important for yours and the team's development within the business.

You will be responsible for the month end management and group accounts reporting, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and variance analysis, whilst also supporting the Commercial finance function by preparing and reviewing forecasts. KPI reporting will also be a key part of your monthly role.

Liaising with tax consultants and auditors will be a regular occurrence and maintaining strong external relationships will play a key part in this position. You will coordinate and oversee the annual statutory audit and continuously ensure compliance within the UK accounting regulations. Day to day cash management will also be a crucial element in your role, to include weekly forecasts so that the CFO and CEO are continuously updated on business performance. This is high pressured role and requires someone who is used to working to extremely tight deadlines.

You'll need to be able to challenge senior stakeholders effectively, advising on any potential issues before they become a problem and how to minimize risk.
