Sewell Wallis are delighted to be working exclusively with a thriving professional services business based in north Leeds who are looking to appoint an ambitious and commercially astute Financial Controller.

As their new Financial Controller, you will play an integral role as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. You will be responsible for leading and motivating the finance team, whilst supporting the Finance Director to reach key strategic goals to aid company growth. This is an opportunity where you can really make a tangible impact across the business, in providing insightful financial analysis and guidance for business decisions.

Your key duties as the Financial Controller will include the following:-

-Oversee the delivery of the monthly management reporting across 8 separate entities, including variance analysis to the Board on each company
-Ensure that you highlight any risks/trends and opportunities to the Board on a regular basis across all entities
-Demonstrate effective business partnering internally across all departments, particularly Operations
-Creating in depth forecasting models to enable advice on how business performance can be improved
-Act as the key contact for external customers that are seeking funding advice, demonstrating that you can explain complex financial data in a way that everyone can understand
-Identify and mitigate any funding risks across external customers
-Oversee the finance function including billing, AR and AP. This includes regular reviews, setting clear goals and encouraging progression throughout the team
-Oversee the audit process and liaise with auditors and third party advisors
-Monthly staff payroll
-Take a lead role in looking at current business processes and system, and implementing necessary changes
-Actively promote solutions across the finance and operations team when a problem is found
-Support on other ad hoc projects when the FD or MD require further support
-Support with integrating future acquisitions into the finance teams processes
-Develop financial models to calculate profitability easily and quickly, so that you can then relay any findings to the Board

To be considered for this excellent opportunity, you will need to meet the following criteria:-

-Be a qualified accountant, ACA, CIMA or ACCA
-Be positive, self-motivated and a natural business partner!
-Have a highly organized approach to work and the ability to work for a fast paced and complex organisation
-Exceptional interpersonal skills
-A strong team manager and motivational leader
