Financial Controller

Sewell Wallis are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a growing manufacturing business with offices in Ripon.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious fully qualified Accountant looking for their next step into an FC role where you will work closely alongside the CEO, helping to drive the business forward.

Key responsibilities:-

Overseeing the finance function and managing a small team
Preparing statutory accounts and managing the external audit
Ensuring compliance within the UK accounting regulations
Preparing month end management accounts
Cashflow modelling and analysis
Supporting the commercial finance side by preparing and reviewing forecasts and KPI reporting
Maintaining the fixed asset register
Day to day cash management
Preparing and reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Liaising with the auditors and tax consultants
Preparing monthly and quarterly VAT returns
Ensuring robust financial controls and processes are established, well understood and being followed across the finance team
Ad hoc finance project work

Requirements

Fully qualified Accountant, ideally ACA/CIMA/ACCA
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
Commercially and analytically astute
Strong technical background
Experience of managing a team

This role is initially fully office based but there will be the opportunity to work 1-2 days from home after a 3 month period.
