We are thrilled to be working on an exciting new opportunity for a Financial Controller to join a growing business as their number one finance person on site, as part of their Site Leadership Team.

Our client is a thriving US owed business within the medical industry that has recently acquired a company based in Leeds, which they now need a strong finance leader to take ownership of. This is an all-round finance position, which will require an individual who is happy to be hands on, but also able to partner with senior stakeholders daily, to support with key strategic decisions.

Some of the more junior duties will in time be moved across into the US entity, however this is 6-12 months away, so you need to be prepared to roll your sleeves in the meantime. As the business grows, there is potential to recruit more people into finance, so this should be viewed as a fantastic long term move for somebody who is looking to really put their stamp on things!

You will be reporting into a Director in the US and will be responsible for all financial processes and systems at the Leeds manufacturing site. It is crucial that you have strong business partnering skills, as you will be regularly advising the Production Manager on any cost related issues, to make the site more profitable and ensuring efficient processes are in place.

Your day-to-day role will include the following:-

-Partner closely with the production teams to reach set financial targets and objectives
-Ensure the site has all the correct financial controls in place and implementing new processes or systems if there is an area of concern
-Perform periodic audits to depict the site operations and performance
-Develop and present annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and analysis to improve site performance
-Present financial information to the business managers and site leadership team
-Determine and maintain accounting principles and processes to ensure compliance to local and US GAAP regulations
-Establish and maintain cost systems
-Oversight of inventory management in line with budgets and forecasts
-Maintain fixed asset register
-Review and analyse capital proposals
-Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure year end audit is completed
-Co-ordinate the site payroll
-Cash management and reconciling the bank accounts
-Regularly liaise with the US Ops Finance Team for reporting and analysis of manufacturing variances
-Control all transactional finance duties including AP/AR

To be considered for this role you will either be a qualified or qualified by experience accountant, who is not afraid to get into the detail of finance. Experience working within the manufacturing industry would be highly advantageous, however my client is prepared to teach the industry to the right person.
