Financial Accountant

Sewell Wallis recruitment are excited to be working with a leading Sheffield based business as they look to recruit a Financial Accountant. My client are a very well established business and are one of the leaders within their industry.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate as they have huge plans for growth in the near future.

The right candidate will ideally have experience with tax returns and statutory accounts.

The role:

*Ownership of several balance sheet accounts in the reconciliation process on the financial system
*Preparation and submission of UK and overseas VAT returns, Landfill tax return and EU reporting requirements
*Preparation and submission of other statutory reporting requirements as requested
*Assistance with year-end statutory accounts preparation and acting as the liaison between external auditors and Finance Business Partners to facilitate smooth and timely completion of the year end audit.
*Assist in the development of accounting policies and processes across the entities in the steel division and ensuring adherence to these policies and processes.
*Develop and maintain effective working relationships with nominated internal and external partners to facilitate achievement of service levels and KPIs.

The candidate:

- 3-5 years experience in a similar role
- Experience handling tax returns
- Experience with KPI reporting
- Year end experience
- Good written and verbal skills
