This business have recently gone through a significant period of change following an acquisition and are subsequently bringing some of their finance function from the US over to the UK.
This is therefore a new position within the UK finance team and will come with full autonomy for the right candidate to really shape the position into their ideal role.
Reporting the UK Finance Director, you will be responsible for the following
-Produce the monthly management accounts for the two facilities, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis on significant variances
-Preparation of journal entries
-Analysing and allocating costs and preparing audit trail support for the journal entries
-Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
-Working on process improvement throughout the department
-Maintain the fixed asset register
-Preparation of VAT returns
-Liaising with auditors in regards to annual financial statements
-Analyse general ledger for accuracy, analysing accruals to ensure proper expensing and estimates
-Ensure the appropriate systems and controls are in place
-Managing inter-company invoicing
Although this role will not initially manage anyone, due to future/positive changes coming up in the finance team, this role could develop into managing two individuals
You will ideally be a qualified accountant or part qualified candidates will be considered. The ideal person will come from an energy background, however this is not essential.
You will have experience working within a fast paced finance team and be highly proficient in ERP systems and Excel.
