Sewell Wallis are currently recruiting for a Finance Analyst to join a well-established, growing business based within the York area. The role is initially offered on a two year fixed term contract due to a project but for the right person it could become a permanent opportunity. You will join a friendly, long standing finance team that reward and recognise their team members. This is a new role that has been created due to business growth, reporting directly into the Head of Finance.

The ideal candidate will have an all rounded finance background, will be comfortable dealing with high volumes of transactions and will be able to work towards strict targets and deadlines. An understanding of the accounts payable process would be an advantage however this is not essential. The successful candidate will have full responsibility for ensuring that all data is migrated across to strict deadlines and that everything is correctly set up on the system and any errors or anomalies are ironed out.The role will involve interaction with key stakeholders across the business and there will be a large emphasis upon analysis and project work.

The main duties of the role will include :-

-Building supplier files and ensuring that all data is entered into the system correctly.
-Dealing with all queries, complaints and account amendments.
-Communicating with internal and external customers to gather and update information.
-Analysing data to identify trends and investigating as necessary.
-Correctly recording information around payments and liaising with the relevant people
-Matching payment and credit notes to the system
-Identifying missing invoices and payments and rectifying
-Assisting he project team in other areas of data cleansing/mitigation

The ideal candidate will:-

-Have experience of an all rounded accounts based role and will be able to deal with high volumes of transactions.
-Be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team as this role is a standalone position.
-Have excellent IT skills particularly in Excel and database management.
-Have strong analytical skills and will be able to identify areas of improvement and errors.
-Have excellent communication skills.
-Have good attention to detail and will be able to work towards tight deadlines.
