Commercial Financial Controller

Sewell Wallis are delighted to working on an exclusive basis with a leading technology business based in York. This is a newly created highly confidential role due to a pending acquisition that is soon to complete. This will be the first acquisition of many for the business and will therefore be the start of an extremely exciting time for the organisation.

They are now looking for a Commercial Financial Controller to join their thriving business, to support the CFO with some key integration work once the transaction is completed. You will play a pivotal role in the company's future growth plans and will initially be the number one finance person on site. The role will include the successful development and day to day management of the stand-alone finances, creating and implementing new processes, preparing the monthly management accounts, and setting up monthly financial reporting for the new entity.

The role will also be responsible for the eventual migration of the financial outputs onto their single ERP system.

Once this entity integration has been completed, the role will move into a purely commercial finance position, providing high quality commercial analysis and insight into the business.

The Commercial Financial Controller position will then include the following duties:-

-Understanding detailed elements and drivers of costs
-Preparing commercial bids ensuring that any potential deals are competitive, the right cost and ultimately the right decision for the business
-Work closely with the sales function to provide commercial analysis to support strategic decision making
-Working with stakeholders across the business to determine pricing strategies
-Identify areas of commercial and business risk within commercial bids and working to resolve or mitigate these
-Delivering insightful MI reports to the Management team and Directors
-Work closely with the finance function and the operational teams across the business in new and innovative ways
-Provide key management information to the operational functions as well as being the key link between the finance department and the business
-Financial forecasting, Board Reporting and management of the company's overall financial performance
-Updating and implementing processes and process improvements

To be considered for this excellent, newly created opportunity you must be a commercially focused, qualified accountant with a real drive to succeed and progress.

Given this position will start as a number one finance role on site, you must be confident that you can fulfil the above requirements and hit the ground running quickly.

It is essential that you have excellent interpersonal skills and can confidently business partner with all areas of a business. Experience working for a technology business would be a huge advantage to our client.
