You will report into an experienced Head of Commercial Finance and will play a pivotal role in supporting the Senior Management Team in the decision-making process through delivering robust analysis of past and expected future performance.
Our client is ideally looking to appoint a newly qualified accountant in this position, who strives to continuously improve their skillset and can confidently business partner with a sales function. Candidates from industry, or 1st time movers from practice will both be considered for this opportunity. You must have extremely strong excel skills and be an ambitious and driven accountant.
As the Commercial Finance Manager, your role will include the following:-
-Monitor and report on commercial performance across the business
-Expand the breadth and commercial report and ultimately transition all commercial finance reports onto BI.
-Improve all controls, process and systems within the commercial finance function
-Training and support for junior finance colleagues
-Deliver P&L summaries, variance analysis and KPI reporting on actual and forecast performance to deadline
-Consolidation of weekly and monthly forecasts
-Work closely with the Head of Commercial Finance to identify any risks or opportunities to forecast, recommending any areas to mitigate risk
-Deliver insightful margin analysis to support the commercial team with reports to enable them to understand the drivers behind margin movements better
-Business partner closely with the FP&A team
-Lead the monthly commercial planning cycle and the annual budgeting process
-Highlight key trends and risk from in-depth analysis
-Consolidate the commercial balance sheets and lead the balance sheet review to provide recommendation to support month end numbers
-Lead year end audit work with clear communication on deadlines
-Transition excel based reporting onto Power BI so that it is automated, user friendly and accessible.
-Review our current reporting and identify areas for improvements
