Sewell Wallis are currently with a distribution business based in south Leeds. This medium sized organisation have demonstrated a highly profitable business over the last year and are looking to expand their finance function to reflect this.

They are now looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to report into the current FC. This is an urgent requirement and would therefore suitable someone who is immediately available or at least available to start within the next month.

As the Assistant Financial Controller your duties will include the following:-

-End to end preparation of month end accounts including P&L and balance sheet reporting
-Assist with the annual budget and quarterly forecasting process, investigating and explaining any variances
-Ad hoc analysis around profitability to support business growth moving forward
-Process and controls improvement work designing value adding improvements
-Prepare relevant information for monthly management and P&L review meetings
-Produce meaningful reports highlighting any business risks
-Regular cash flow forecasting
-Implement any improvements across the month end process
-Assist with the production of year end accounts
-Mentoring junior members of the finance team with the potential to move into full time line management

You will need to be a qualified accountant with strong cash management experience. You must be a hands on, roll your sleeves up accountant who is happy to support across all areas of finance when required.
