Assistant Accountant

Job description

We are delighted to be working with a growing business based in Rotherham who are looking for an ambitious Management Accountant to join their supportive team.

The successful candidate will be involved in producing the monthly management accounts for a number of individual stores. This will cover wide ranging aspects of accounting, from bookkeeping, producing the P&L and Balance Sheet to generating quarterly VAT figures and Year End statutory accounts preparation.

Duties:
- Bank Reconciliation
- Ensuring accurate information is obtained from the franchisee
- Entering all expenses and receipts onto the system
- Stock/Income analysis
- Payments/Invoice entries
- Prepayments/Accruals/Journals
- Wage Reconciliation
- Supplier Reconciliations
- Produce P&L and Balance Sheet from a trial balance
- Monthly reports and general accounts analysis
- "Snap shot" forecast accounts
- VAT returns
- Year end analysis for statutory accounts


Candidate requirements:
- AAT Qualified or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years accounts department experience
- Confident using Microsoft Excel
- Sage 200
- Ability to communicate, analyse & explain the accounts to various
departments
- Organise their own timescale and working schedule
- High attention to detail and self-motivation
