Job description
We have a fantastic opportunity to join an SME engineering business based in Chesterfield as their Accounts Manager. Working very closely with the Managing Director and the General Manager you will be fully responsible for the running of the finance department, including the management of a small team.This business is based North Chesterfield and is easily commutable from Sheffield, Worksop and Mansfield.
Main Duties include;
*Overseeing processing supplier invoices onto the ledger ensuring correct coding
*Monthly and Weekly Wages
*BACS payments
*Cash Flow Forecasting
*Monthly Management Accounts
*Overseeing Purchase Ledger and Accounts Assistant
*Ensuring the invoices are appropriately authorised in a timely manner
*Invoicing
*Reconciliation of supplier statements to the ledger and allocation of payments
*Arranging BACS payments and liaising with suppliers and other staff members to resolve any queries
*Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining existing ones
*Collating information for year end
*Year end accounts with external Accountant
*Reconciliation of Petty Cash
*Overseeing Holiday allocation
*Provide timely explanations of variances
*Credit control, chasing overdue payments
*Control of authorising and payment of purchase invoices
*Updating and entering journals for sales revenue and other transactions
*Reconciliation of all ledger accounts
*Completion of quarterly VAT return
*Conversant with PAYE and VAT reconciliations
*Provide timely explanations of variances
Requirements;
*Proven accounts management experience within similar organisations
*Excellent attention to detail, able to input data quickly and accurately
*Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature
*Competent in MS Office/Excel/Word
*Hands-on experience with spreadsheets essential
*Reliable and trustworthy
*Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50 Payroll literate
*Working on your own initiative and able to manage within a team.
*Ability to plan and prioritise your own work to tight deadlines
*Able to build a rapport with a wide range of people, you should be a team player with good communication skills
