Accounts Assistant

Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant in the Huddersfield area. This is a newly created position which has been come about due continued business growth over recent years.

The successful candidate will join a well-established finance team, in a role that gives them access to the full transactional process. Full training and support will be provided by the Finance Manager who has shown a consistent commitment to employee development.

The role would suit an individual currently studying for their AAT qualifications, it's a progressive company which allows their workers day release to carry out their studies.

Your responsibilities will include:
Daily cash flow management and reporting.
Assisting key overhead expenses on a monthly basis.
Assisting with system testing.
Processing of credit cards, expenses and petty cash claims.
Making invoicing, purchase orders, banking and expenses.
Making recommendations to systems and processes in order to improve these.
Completing daily settlement and reconciliation activities.
Assisting with the budgeting process and quarterly forecasting.
Analysing key overhead expenses on a monthly basis.
Additional ad-hoc tasks which may be required by the Finance Manager.

The ideal candidate will have:
GCSE English and Maths, preferably grades A-C, or equivalent.
Started studying their AAT qualification.
Strong Excel skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Confidence in communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
