Management Accountant
About the Role
Sewell Wallis are working with a growing business in Wakefield to recruit an experienced Management Accountant on a fixed-term contract basis to cover maternity leave.
The contract is expected to last 6 months and has some potential to extend, and involves managing parts of transactional finance, assisting the financial controller with aspects of the management accounts and partnering with the operational teams.
They don't necessarily need someone with business partnering experience, but they do need someone who has experience of the accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and journals side of management accounting, who is confident and comfortable with communicating with internal and external teams.
It's a great opportunity for someone who plans to go down the commercial finance route in the future!
What will you be doing?
- Sales ledger and purchase ledger management.
- VAT returns.
- Accruals and prepayments.
- Journals.
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Stock accounting.
- Chasing debt as a when required.
- Assisting the FC with further management accountant duties when required.
What skills are we looking for?
- QBE or working towards your CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
- Exposure of accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Previous stock accounting and WIP experience is ideal.
- Experience working within a fast-paced sector.
- Immediately available and able to commit to the fixed-term contract.
