About the Role

Sewell Wallis are working with an IT/Software company based in Chesterfield who are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant for their team. The role will require you to have good knowledge of Accounts Receivable and Credit Control functions.

This would be the perfect opportunity for someone who has prior Accounts Receivable experience but is wanting to take their next career step to Accounts Assistant, and learn more about the full 360 transactional finance role.

What will you be doing?

  • Chase overdue payment.
  • Handing all queries and requests, making sure they are promptly resolved.
  • You’ll be working on the phone, and emailing, to chase customer payments.
  • Maximising cash collections and allocation.
  • Escalating relevant accounts when needed in line with company procedures.
  • Process and code invoices.
  • Support the team with billing and purchase orders.
  • Managing the purchase ledger, matching and coding invoices.
  • Bank reconciliations.

What skills are we looking for?

  • Must have prior experience with Accounts Receivable.
  • Ideally have experience of Sage Intacct (or another cloud based system).
  • Confident using Microsoft Office including Excel.
  • Studying towards your AAT or other professional accounting qualification.
  • You will need to be able to work effectively and know how to prioritise your workload.
